What’s collected at state parks is put into one big pot and then doled out accordingly. …  read more…

Resolved Question: Why not just re-open Alcatraz as a prison again and move Gitmo out there?
Is Obama really serious about closing Gitmo or is his level of seriousness dependent on whether or not he can get some other country to deal with the combatants for him?

If he’s really serious, why hasn’t this man who is allegedly so superior in intelligence than the rest of us just taken Alcatraz off the National Parks list and moved them all out there?

As I see it there are several benefits to using that facility. Here are just a few:

1.) It’s Federal property.
2.) It can house more than 300 inmates and there are only 240 at Gitmo.
3.) It shouldn’t take our military engineers and construction crews more than a few weeks to get it ready to move into. After all, they built Gitmo pretty much from scratch.
4.) They could use the lighthouse as their primary watchtower.
5.) The prisoners would be minutes away from their many supporters in Berkeley, California.
6.) It would be much more cost effective than paying some other government to house them.
7.) There are multiple military installations nearby in case there is any trouble.

Resolved Question: Will you help get dihydrogen monoxide banned from our cities?
Dihydrogen monoxide is a potential killer and is in every city on the planet. In fact dihydrogen monoxide is directly responsible for every hurricane that has ever occurred on this planet and yet governments refuse to act to eradicate this silent menace!
Your own government, local, state and federal is engaged in it’s use as is nearly every business. Nearly every city and town on earth has vast underground networks of pipes pumping this substance into our homes and we even willingly pay for the honor of this potential death ray of liquid that can be extremely toxic if inhaled in sufficient quantities. Vast profits have been made from it and even wars have been fought to protect others from squandering it!
Some little known facts:
Despite the danger, dihydrogen monoxide is often used:

* as an industrial solvent and coolant.
* in nuclear power plants.
* in the production of styrofoam.
* as a fire retardant.
* in many forms of cruel animal research.
* in the distribution of pesticides. Even after washing, produce remains contaminated by this chemical.
* as an additive in certain “junk-foods” and other food products.
*every restaurant known uses this substance as food additives and to even wash the dishes you eat off of.
Quantities of dihydrogen monoxide have been found in almost every stream, lake, and reservoir in America today. But the pollution is global, and the contaminant has even been found in Antarctic ice. DHMO has caused millions of dollars of property damage in the midwest, and recently California.
Even public swimming pools are full of this silent killer and sudden impact with it can cause irreversible conditions, broken bones, very sore skin and yes, even death!
Even though it is well known that every human today has vast quantities stored within our cells sudden withdraw will cause certain death within a few short weeks!
Your children are at great risk if not properly educated about its very real dangers so if you won’t help yourself at the very least help eradicate this silent killer to save the children!
PLEASE! For the LOVE OF GOD! Stop the distribution and get banned dihydrogen monoxide before it’s to late!

Then again, it could be nothing. ;)
Huh? Water? Are you trying to keep me from cornering the black market on the most precious of commodities? LOL
I was really hoping to get at least one bite, but apparently the Bush doctrine has somehow magically died off. Science must be the responsible culprit in this diabolical matter. ;)
I admit I was gullible enough for a few moments.. kind of like the Bible..

Paramour Mansion in the 1930’s

From Wikipedia:

“The Canfield-Moreno Estate, (also known as The Paramour Mansion, or The Crestmount) is a recording studio/estate located in Silver Lake, Los Angeles, California. Named after its original owners, it is considered a historic cultural monument.

The mansion is a 22,000-square-foot (2,000 m2) Mediterranean-style country villa. It was constructed in 1923 by architect Robert D. Farquhar. As the opulent former residence of silent film star Antonio Moreno and his wife and oil heiress, Daisy Canfield Danziger, it was the scene for lavish Sunday afternoon parties for members of high society and silent screen notables.[1] In 1933, Daisy Canfield was returning from a party and died when her car plunged off Mulholland Drive. Since then, the 22-room estate has seen many incarnations. It would soon be the Chloe P. Canfield School for Girls. In 1950, it became a convent for Franciscan nuns, who sold the property in 1987 after it was damaged by the Whittier Narrows earthquake.

My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way describes in the song Sleep a “night terror” he experienced while recording at the Paramour Mansion. He describes a feeling of being strangled, and says he couldn’t wake up or move. He has also claimed in interviews that in his night terrors he saw Joan of Arc burning as well as his loved ones dying. During the band’s stay at the house, they came across a painting of an angel above a fireplace. When a band member moved something, the painting was revealed to have a demon reaching for the angel’s feet. Another incident involved the bassist, Mikey Way, also Gerard Way’s brother. He became depressed. The band decided to get him out of the house. Drummer Bob Bryar also claimed that in the middle of the night, the bathtub in his bathroom would fill itself with water.

Papa Roach’s vocalist, Jacoby Shaddix, has said that he went down to Daisy’s gravesite to sit and write the band’s popular single Forever and had help and inspiration from Daisy’s ghost. Their drummer David Buckner also had some experiences there as well. “The whole property was completely fucking haunted, and I saw it as a sanctioned opportunity for me to lose my mind—And I did exactly that. I was visited by inter-dimensional beings, had out-of-body sex with spirits from old Hollywood, learned how to see specters, and now know what it feels like to have a ghost walk through me. It’s a very enlightening and inspiring experience, and something to check off the list.” he said. While recording the track Crash off the album, every time they’d get to the lines “I’m going to crash” the power went out and all their equipment went out the first time and when they tried again it happened two more times.”
